Aarschot Hotel

NoA Architecten

A conversion and extension of a historic brick building in the Flemish town of Aarschot into a hotel.  The architects have restored the building’s original distinctive gabled profile, replacing traditional brick with Corten steel and retaining the variegated fenestration.  The architects used versions of izé’s Adolf Loos handles for doors and windows to create contrast with the historic fabric and produce an intriguing formal language of geometric elements against the picturesque vernacular of the architecture.
