A Room for London

David Kohn Architects

Perched atop the Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre, A Room for London is an installation which doubles as an unusual hotel room designed by David Kohn and Fiona Banner. The structure, which looks like a boat placed on top of the building by some fictitious tidal wave, is a reference to the river journey in Joseph Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness'.

izé supplied the door handles and the lights, designed by David Kohn.
