EBBA are an inquisitive architecture and design practice, making quietly progressive buildings, places, objects and furniture through an investigative and hands-on approach. Working across cultural spaces, large and small dwellings and retail, EBBA’s focus is on making spaces that reflect particular poetic and material qualities that can carry meaning and can have a direct emotional effect on the users.  Founded by architect and designer Benni Allan, each of the studio’s projects combine intellectual thinking, considered materiality and construction logic to create experiences and spaces that are familiar yet provocative. Recent work includes the on-going restoration of Georgie Wolton’s Belsize Lane, a large multi-use housing scheme in Germany and a series of bold interiors for retail and event spaces. The research-driven practice has won multiple awards for its work and was shortlisted for the Dezeen Awards Emerging Architecture Studio of the Year in 2024 as well as being profiled by Wallpaper* magazine as one of the ground-breaking new generation of studios. They have also previously been awarded the coveted YAYA Young Architect of the Year Award by Building Design.
