Eric Parry - izé Designer

Following a distinguished academic career, Parry has gone on to become the most sophisticated of commercial architects, his office producing extremely elegant schemes for sensitive sites most notably in the dense fabric of central London. His office building in Finsbury Square established him as a major commercial presence and subsequent significant buildings in Savile Row, Bond Street and Aldermanbury Square in the City of London constitute an oeuvre which manages to blend elements of classicism, Chicago modernism and an empathy for London’s particular urban fabric which have kept him in the unusual position of being both critically and commercially acclaimed. His Z-handle evokes a kind of crystalline cubism which reconciles the horizontality of the grip with the verticality of the continental style backplate through a series of faceted surfaces.
