When developer Kohler Co refurbished the historic Hamilton Grand hotel in St Andrews, turning it into high-end apartments, it wanted to pay homage to the hotel’s history, as a place that had set the standard for luxury accommodation. It asked izé to recreate a Bakelite handle that had been used on the original hotel in bronze. This became the ‘Hamilton Grand’ handle.
